Come one – come all to our Independence Day event as South Elgin turns out for an old fashioned, flag waving parade through the heart of the community. The community honors our nation’s independence and the veterans who have fought to protect it. The parade kicks off promptly at 10:00 am on July 4th. The parade route begins at the corner of West Spring Street and Wedgewood Drive and ends at Route 31 and Spring Street.
The Parks & Recreation Department collects non-perishable food items at the beginning of the parade to help fill the shelves at the South Elgin Food Pantry.
